Art Beyond a Flat Canvas

Adrienne Wiggins is a self-taught North Carolina–based artist whose practice is rooted in an unlikely convergence of disciplines — wedding photography, ceramics, and the exacting precision of piping botanical forms in buttercream. Years spent mastering that technical discipline became the foundation for her fine art practice: sculptural relief painting using heavy acrylic paint, a technique she has made entirely her own, blurring the line between painting and sculpture.

Wiggins experiences color with heightened sensitivity, layering hues in ways that feel vibrant and alive. A Chapel Hill resident and member of the Chatham Artists Guild, her work is sold at the North Carolina Museum of Art retail shop and at Paysage Home in Chapel Hill and Wilmington. She is the founder of By Adrienne Art, a 501(c)(3) organization whose sales support community outreach initiatives across North Carolina.
